DESCRIPTION:A Place In Zion Presents: Cracking the Code on Dementia facilitated by Veronica Calliet\, BSN\, RN\, Certified Montessori Dementia Care Practitioner (CMDCP)\n\nAs the #6 cause of death in the United States behind heart disease\, Alzheimer’s disease is a growing public health crisis in Louisiana. The impact of Alzheimer’s disease is projected to rise\, and the most recent data shows Louisiana has a projected increase between 17.4% and 22.6% in the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease between the years 2020 and 2025.\n\nThis seminar will discuss the relativity of this health crisis and the potential impact it will have on the communities and Long-Term Care Facilities across Louisiana. Innovative approaches will be discussed on how to develop a highly specialized memory care program or re-design an existing program.
